BEEVET Animal Hospital provides allergy and dermatology services for dogs and cats in Austin and Bee Cave. Our goal is to identify the underlying cause of your pet’s allergy or dermatology condition and administer effective treatments.

Identifying Pet Allergies

A majority of pet allergies are caused by external parasites, environmental allergens, or food allergens. We begin with an exam of your pet and conduct a blood test to identify the underlying cause of your pet’s allergy. Common signs of pet allergies include:

  • Ear infections
  • Hair loss
  • Inflamed toes or ears
  • Itchy skin
  • Scooting (anal gland issues)
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Coughing or sneezing

Pet Allergy Treatments

Allergy treatments are designed to target the source of your pet’s specific allergen. Weak concentrations of your pet’s allergen is administrated over time, allowing your pet to build his or her immunity. We offer two treatment methods for pet allergies:

  • Oral drops (administered twice a day)
  • Injections (administered a few times per week)

Both treatment options can be done at home and provide safe, effective relief from your pet’s symptoms.

Pet Dermatology

Our veterinary team is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of pet dermatology conditions. Pets with allergies, parasite infestations, or other illnesses often suffer from problems. Common skin symptoms include:

  • Dry
  • Itchy
  • Flaky
  • Oily
  • Scaly
  • Color change or pigment change
  • Hair loss

Based on your pet’s diagnosis, we design a treatment plan specific to your pet’s needs. Additionally, our pet grooming service can provide a medicated bath treatment to help alleviate the condition.

At BEEVET Animal Hospital, we diagnose and treat the underlying cause of your pet’s allergy or dermatology condition. Please contact us to schedule an exam or to ask any questions about your pet’s allergy or dermatology issues.
