Not all pets are travel-ready, so it\u2019s important to ensure good health prior to planning any major trips.<\/p>\n<p>Most airlines require a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mybeevet.com\/veterinary-services\/health-certificates.html\">certificate of health<\/a> to verify that your pet is healthy and vaccinated (this is required for all international flights). Will your pet\u2019s carrier fit or do you need to consider a soft sided carrier or pet bag?<\/li>\n<li>Can you purchase a seat for your pet?<\/li>\n<li>Are there areas where your pet can relieve him\/herself while at the airport or during layovers?<\/li>\n<li>What safety protocols do they have in place for pets who must be in cargo?<\/li>\n<li>What type of crate does the airline require?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Along with airline concerns, it\u2019s essential to understand any requirements when it comes to your destination country (if traveling abroad). You\u2019ll need to contact the U.S. consulate well in advance since some countries may require a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mybeevet.com\/boarding\/rabies-quarantine.html\">quarantine<\/a> period, even with a health certificate.<\/p>\n<h3>Packing for Your Trip<\/h3>\n<p>As with any trip, your pet will feel more relaxed if you maintain his or her routine, including packing all the comforts of home.
